Biography:
headshot_jfeldman.jpgJody Feldman can’t remember a time she didn’t want to write.

“Liar!”

Okay. Here’s the real deal. Jody Feldman always found writing to be a chore. Think about it. It’s hard to take all those thoughts that flash through your brain in quick seconds and in perfect form, then spend hours to recreate them on paper for social studies and English teachers. And creative writing? It’s easier to bite your ear off.

The problem is, Jody keeps getting ideas that threaten to explode out those still-attached ears unless she puts them to paper.

Her official writing career got jumpstarted when, in college, she immediately realized she didn’t want to follow her major and didn’t know what else to do. For 20 whole minutes. In that painfully long time it took her to realize that she was at the University of Missouri which houses one of the finest journalism schools in the world, she switched from psychology to advertising.

During her advertising career she’s written a lot and a lot more about shoes. But she’s also written about movies, fluid fertilizer, books, sewing machines, beer, leather cleaner, street banners, rodeos … even words for a giant fortune cookie.

She’s worked in a department store, a factory, a pre-school and spent one day training to sell products door to door but again decided she’d rather bite her own ear off. That time she really meant it.

Jody might have liked to become a treasure hunter, a codebreaker, a movie director, an artist and an inventor. But the most exciting part about writing is, she can explore all those occupations and adventures with the characters in her books.

Jody Feldman lives and plays with her family in St. Louis, Missouri.
